Roads in the Sierra Nevada are starting to open up. Snow is still heavy in the upper regions of the mountains. The McKinney Grove Road to Wishon will be open Saturday. Kaiser Pass Pass Road above Huntington Lake is scheduled to open by Memorial Day. The Sierra Vista National Scenic Byway is open to Mammoth Pool. National Parks Week is next week, both Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks will have free admission Saturday.
