Paradise Valley in Kings Canyon National Park

Roads in the Sierra Nevada are starting to open up. Snow is still heavy in the upper regions of the mountains. The McKinney Grove Road to Wishon will be open Saturday. Kaiser Pass Pass Road above Huntington Lake is scheduled to open by Memorial Day. The Sierra Vista National Scenic Byway is open to Mammoth Pool. National Parks Week is next week, both Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks will have free admission Saturday.

This is absolutely gorgeous!!! I want to go… I love to travel to new places and see things like this… maybe I can talk my husband into taking us there on our next family vacation…

You mentioned that the parks would be free on that date. How much do they normally cost?

I am so glad you posted this. I live in Central California not far from Yosemite and threw the park is the quickest way to Bishop.
